Rutherford B., Who Was He?: Poems About Our Presidents by Marilyn Singer
A collection of children's poems about the presidents of the United States.
*****I loved it I love all the poems in this book. At first I didn't know anything about the president after I read some of the poems I kind of learned something in this book. I think this is a fun way to learn some history about our presidents.
****Great! This book has poems about all of our presidents. Which one is your favorite? Which president died one month into office from pneumonia? Which president served 2 nonconsecutive terms? Which president got stuck in the bath? Which president was forced to resign? Tell me about your favorite poem/president from the book.
**Okay. I have read many Marilyn Singer poetry books, but this is my least favorite. History is not my favorite subject. However, she was brilliant in finding so many rhyming words. I didn't know that we had a president, William Harrison, that was only in office for a month. If you like learning about presidents, this might be for you.
***Decent I liked the poems, especially the ones where it is as if they are talking to each other. The book was interesting but I do not seem to enjoy picture books anymore. I also agree with Mrs.Vento, I am not a big fan of history.

**I realy did not like the book.I liked some of the poems not all of them my favrote poem was about GEORGE W. BUSH.He was one of my favrote presidents.I wish they did not put a lot of poems.
**I didn't really like this book Some of the poems were good. I mainly liked it because it was an easy read.The reason why i didn't really it was because I am not really a history person.I would recommend this book to somebody who likes history and learning about our presidents.
I enjoyed the book Rutherford B. who was he . One thing I didn't like was Calvin Coolidge was the guy who caused the stock market crash.I would recommend this book for people who like presidents.
***OKAY some of the poems were good it was a easy book and if you like easy books then you should read this one its a funny way to learn about the president.
My favorite part was when It showed when the white house was on fire and they had boats with cannons on them.The book tells you if they were good presidents or bad president. I thought Ronald Reagan was a bad president I thought people did not like him.

***Good. I loved how they use famous quotes from the presidents.Like Abraham lincolns was "I am a slow walker, but I never walk back." But still some of the poems are sad like James A. Garfield died right after he was elected. My favorite president and poem are Abraham Lincolns.
***Okay...this book was okay because it was kind of boring and not really catching my full attention , but in the end i do recommend this book for smeone to wait till the end for a good book

***** GREAT i thought that this was a great book about the presidents i recommend this to everybody it has good poams good facts great detail everything is great it has funny poams intreasting its a good book i hope you like it as much as i did its my 2nd favorite bluebonnet book
**** i kinda liked it and the president i liked the most was george washing ton because his lives in the white house and i like the poems in the book. this a good way to know good facts all about the presidents if you want to find out more read this book.

***GREAT I liked this book I like how each person or president has their own personality.I like how on one part they all had ADAMS for either there first name or last name. BUT IT WAS A VERY LONG PICTURE BOOK WITH ALL THESE WEIRD WORDS SO WHAT I MEAN IS I LIKED THIS BOOK IT WAS GREAT .

ReplyDeleteI liked the poem about Lyndon B. Johnson. He gave money to music, theater, and art. He was a Texan.
