The Misadventures of Salem Hyde: Book One: Spelling Trouble by Frank Cammuso
Frequently admonished for her impulsive behavior, Salem Hyde, a young
witch, ignores long lectures by her dignified animal companion and
enters a spelling competition at school only to discover that the
"spelling" involves words instead of magic.
*****Great! I loved this book because Salem's attitude is quite funny. Salem is a "talented" and tiny witch. I also loved the ending. Even though I read this book easily in 30 minutes, I enjoyed it very much.
*****i love it I love how this book tells a story that we can relate to like spelling trouble or don't have any friends. One of my favorite parts of the story is the bonding between Salem and the cat. I like how this story is different to the others ones i read.I would defiantly recommend this book.
*****i loved it I love this book there is just so much to love in it . My favorite part in the book is the boning between Salem and the cat. One of the things i liked about this book is how it is written. You can kind of feel what see is feeling. I would defiantly read this book again.
***Good! This is the only graphic novel this time for the Bluebonnet books! Great book about Salem Hyde,who is a witch that always seems to be getting in trouble. In Spelling Trouble she gets into trouble when she tries to cast spells to help her win the spelling bee. I love the friendship that forms between Whammy, the cat, and Salem. What was your favorite spell?
good*** I thought it was sad that she had a hard time with spelling. I didn't like that Savannah was mean. Salem said "I don't want a unicorn I want a friend. This was a good book.
****good because salem is a witch thats the main reason why i like the book the girl is kind of bad at spelling if u want to get batter at spelling do not read this book
****great I like this book because it is funny and I like the part when she flies a vacuum. She gets in a lot of trouble like the time she turned her teacher in to a dino. She also got in trouble for slamming the door on someone.
****good i liked how it was a graphic novel. i wished i could like jump into the story to help her with spelling. i also liked it because it was easy to read
the thing i liked about it is that it is a graphic novel.in first grade i was horrible at spelling now i am getting an a. She still stayed with it. ***** awsome
***Good Salem Hyde is a witch.... I Think my favorite part was when she made a tyrannosaurus rex on the sidewalk. Also since she did lot a lot of imagination, she wanted to become the spelling queen, however she and the others failed the spelling test. So they created new spells from their spelling words, and Salem has to figure the problem out.
*****Amazing I thought the book was hilarious when she "spells" she uses transformation spells like when she turned that one woman into a dinosaur that was fun. I would recommend this if you want to learn how to NOT spell :}.

I liked this book very much because it was a comic, so I wouldn't have to spend days reading. The humor that Salem has is funny, and The cat is very proper in order to help her. I would recommend this book to a friend.
***good. I liked the book because the dog reminded me of the movie mister Pebody and sherman .he was very smart.and it was a comic book and i love thouse because. They are really easy to read. Salem Hyde was very out going and crazy. I like the broom she made.

*****i really liked this book because salem hyde and her friend practiced salem hyde on the spelling bee words the word was cat but she spelled it wrong. the this little cat hellped her spell words correctly and to excircize and her face poses for the end of the spelling bee . but when they had to spell salem hyde was the 2 or 3 person to say the word the word she had to spell was trouble and she spelled it wrong. then the monster she said for a spell came to the jim and after the monster came into the jim salem hyde ran out the door and pored green liquid on the ground 2 teachers came in the lunch room and fell on the liquid. i really liked this book hope you like this book
****good this book was a great book !!!Salem reminds me of Penelope from the movie reck-it-Ralph and the cat reminds me of mr Peabody even though hes a dog.so 2 of my favorite movies all in 1.i totally reccomend this book to anyone of all ages

*****loved it , it was a great book because I liked the way she got mad at the cat she zapped him and then he helped her and the teacher got mad at her because he was starting to realize that she had powers and she turned Mr Fink into a hog and it was awesome and the whale and the way that girl that was mean to her and then she spelled the word bald rong and then she went bald so she was funny calling for her mom and I would have laught so heard if I was her
i liked the dust bowl it was kinda sad because when the dust came it killed the cow and that's why i recomend this book to you it because it might make you cry

****Great I really liked the book! I liked the part when Mrs. Fossils got turned into a dinosuaur. I hope that the second book can be the same amount of laughs!! I was also confused how the blondie lost the spelling bee if she had been practicing for over two days! I hope that Salem can control her magics and soon she could be a very good witch no matter what!!
****Good It was a good book for a comic book and I want to know where the 2nd book is and my favorite part is when Mr. Fink ran from Ms. Fossil but the sad part was when Salem was sitting and when she was looking down. At the end of the book i kind of laughed but I didn't understand the part where it said 'gotcha' at the end. I love the 'what Salem likes' its cool.

**THIS WAS THE WORST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ OK SO I AM NOT THOSE TYPE OF PEOPLE THAT LIKES MAGIC SO MUCH. BUT PROBALY THE ONLY PART I LIKE WAS PROBALLY THE PET THAT SALEM HYDE GOT I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS BOOK TO READ!
*** good This book is awesome and funny at the same time and when her grandmother ask for help from there cat and the cat is a help companion for symle .
**** this book is really funny cause its about a little girl is trying to be better at magic then comes a cat and turns out they have nothing in comment in the begging but later symle makes a problem so its up to her and the teacher to make it all better then they find out they have a little bit in comment

I also like how the dog tried to help Salem, but he really didn't want to have fun WHAT A BUMMER! I really LOVE THE ENDING where Salem is finally his friend it's so great!! This is one of my favorite books I have ever read!!!
