The Right Word: Roget and His Thesaurus by Jen Bryant
Peter Roget took his love for words and turned it to organizing ideas and finding exactly the rightword to express just what he thought, eventually his lists turn into one of the most important reference books of all time.
****Good I liked this book because I enjoy reading biographies and autobiographies. I like writing lists too! This is a cool book, the fact that it tells you about the creation of the Thesaurus.
***Good! The Right Word is a biography of the life of Peter Roget. Interesting how Peter started making lists at an early age. He loved finding just the right word. Interesting story of how the thesaurus came to be. This book also won the Caldecott Honor Medal for the illustrations.
*****Great! At first I didn't realize that it was a true story. After I was about half way through, I remembered that my Thesaurus I used during high school was called Roget's Thesaurus. That is when I put two and two together and figured out that this was a biography. Peter Roget was an intelligent and interesting man. You need to read this one.
****Good because i like that it tells you about his life and how he created the Thesaurus. And when he was a kid he wrote a list of words and then he became a doctor.And that is why i like it.
*****Great At first there was a girl being mean to the main character because she thought she was going to loose the spelling bee,but then the main character got help by a magical cat,and the cat made her do better. It did not say but I think that she won because of the cat
****Great I loved this book because he always made lists. It was cool that he got help from a cat. I would recommend this MAGNIFICENT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**OK I LIKE THIS BOOK BECUSE IT TECHES YOU HOW SMART YOU CAN BE AS A KID. AND I LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO THIS MAN FOR MAKEING A THUSORAS BECUSE NOW WEN I NEED A DIFERNT WAY OF A WORD I CAN YOU'S A THUSORAS.THIS MAN WAS A VARY INTELAGENT BRIGHT SMART.......... I WELL RECUMEND THIS BOOK TO SOMONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN NEW WORDS.
****Good This book was good because it tells how the thesaurus came from. I thought it was kinda sad how when he was a little kid he figured out that his dad was not going to come back. I also liked how his uncle gave Peter advice that since he is only 19, the others would not take him seriously...But I did have one question.....Is he the one who actually made/created the thesaurus?????
*** good .he was very smart and I did not like the part when the dad said that no one would take him seriously if he was a doctor,.but then some people asked him to teech his son so that was good that he got a job.
****good I think the book is bigophy because it tells about peters life and I like writing storys about my life to that is why I like this book but who is the next book going to be about I hope me

I love this book because it uses a lot of great description. so when ever i read this book I could picture it so well that it actually felt like i was in the book! i would give this book 4 stars so i recomined this book to you.

I think that the boy had the worst mother in the whole world. she would always complain on what he is doing and tell other people. my favorite part of the book is when he becomes a great man and every one loves him so he proved his mom wrong is what I am saying. All in all I could say this is not a bad book
****I love it because it talks about his life and what he did and he grew up to be a docter and got married and had one girl and one boy and he published 3 books and he scribbled when he rote he had to write side to side because he didn't know how to write like every body else does and it had a lot of description in the book this book was sad when his dad died when they went on a trip. if you want to find out mare you should read this book
***GOOD I liked this book . I liked how it uses so many good and big words.And how he uses different words each day in everyday sentences.And how he wants to be a doctor when he grows up that what I wanted to be as well when i am older.so that is a connection about me and him.
***This was a nice book to read because the boy loves to read.the boy loves to read a lot because he was moving with his parents a lot.It was really hard to make friends because of moving but he was getting use to it.The book is a cool book to read.

***Good. I think this book gets very deep from the beginning to the middle . This book is about a man who created a book called Thesaurus and it taught people to use new words. I recommend this book because its kind of deep and educational.
****Great I enjoyed this book very much because it gets very deep in the beginning like Logan S. said in his comment. One thing i found interesting was that Peter kept on writing his own lists. I would recommend this book to a friend because it is very interesting and cool.

*****Great the book is so much about new word about Latin and Greek root words .Favorite part was the marrige. I totaly recomend the book because of if your have trouble timesin these word it a great awesome book.

To pass time, he'd make lists and read books. The lists he made for fun actually helped in the future for making the thesaurus. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes learning new words.
